Interview

[Music] Amon Tobin - The Lighthouse

I finally had my interview for the new position they made in my department at work. You know, the one I mentioned that takes a substantial portion of my current job and adds a few things to it? Yeah, that one. I think it went well enough, even if it was kind of awkward. The station manager used that specific word, because most of their questions were geared toward new people. We did have a few laughs, especially when my boss introduced me to everyone, and I made the comment that they all seemed really familiar for some reason. I do think I've got a pretty good chance on getting that position. If not, I've been told that I'll still have some sort of position at the station, but I don't know what yet. Most likely something that would keep me afloat until I could find something else. But don't tell them that. Should have more news by the end of the month.

Oh, and I've got another odd little story snippet:

"Captain! Long range sensors are picking up multiple contacts, pinging at 2.5 clicks dead ahead. Alignment unknown as of yet."

"Thank you, Lieutenant. Keep monitoring them and alert me to any changes."

"Captain! Quantum analysis complete! Contacts appear to be...oh Jesus! A full squadron of gumdrop flotillas! Oh Christ, we're in some deep shit!"

"Lieutenant! Get your ensign under control! I don't know what kind of company you've sailed with before, but we here on the G.S. Lollipop don't take kindly to that kind of cowardice! Armaments! Lock and load all port cannnons, arm liquorice pods A4-G8, and prime the Big Bopper. Navigation! Hard to starboard! It's high time we take those candy-assed sons-of-bitches down."

I like it, but maybe that's just because candy is delicious.
